Sacraments

Baptism: The first of the Sacraments, the Church requires the preparation of parents before the celebration of an infant's Baptism. Parents who are expecting, or have recently had a child, are asked to contact the Parish Office to make an appointment for an instructional session. These sessions are usually scheduled on the fourth Monday of every month. Baptisms are usually celebrated after the 9:30 Sunday Mass, or as convenient, but are not ordinarily celebrated during the seasons of Advent and Lent. Please call the parish office for more information, 636-398-5270.

Holy Communion: Preparation for children is normally accomplished during the second grade, either through our Parish School of Religion program, or a full-time Catholic School. The Blessed Sacrament may be brought to anyone unable to attend Mass, due to health problems.

Confirmation: Those seeking the completion of their Christian Initiation are confirmed, following a series of instructions. Young people, at least in the 8th grade, are usually confirmed here at Immaculate Heart of Mary, normally during the Easter season. Adults who are seeking this Sacrament are confirmed either here, or at the Saint Louis Cathedral, following a program of instruction in the faith. Please contact Shawn Mueller at the Parish Office for complete information, 636-398-5270.

Christian Initiation of Adults: All adults seeking membership in the Catholic Church are asked to contact Shawn Mueller at the Parish Office (636-398-5270) for information and times for preparation sessions leading to Baptism, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion.

Marriage: Couples should contact the priest a minimum of six months in advance of the proposed wedding date. Catholics are expected to be practicing their faith, and sacramental preparation is required before the wedding ceremony.

Reconciliation: Children are prepared for this sacrament in the second grade, either through our Parish School of Religion program, or at a full-time Catholic School. Reconciliation is offered on Saturday mornings following the 8:00 Mass, on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 - 6:20pm, and 7:30am Monday thru Saturday.

Anointing of the Sick: Please call the Parish Office at any time if you would like to receive the Sacrament of the Sick. Communal Anointing Services are as announced in the bulletin (636-398-5270).
