IHM will host a Chili Cook-Off and Dessert Challenge on Halloween Night, Friday, October 31 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Founders Hall. There are several ways you can participate and have fun with us that evening:
Official Rules for the IHM Chili Cook-Off
Please bring your chili to Founders Hall (between the big church and St. Joseph’s Chapel), no earlier than 4:30 pm and no later than 6:00 pm.
You will have an assigned place for your pot of chili. Every entry will be anonymous so please do not put your name on yours. Instead, you’ll receive a number for identification when you register. Please make sure your phone number and email address are current so you can be contacted easily.
Someone will help you find your spot for your chili. Don’t just leave it anywhere in the hall, please.
The cook-off will begin at 6:00 pm. The judges will go through the line first and gather their samples. After that, everyone is welcome to go through the line and try any or all of the chilies. The church will also provide hot dogs and toppings. Soda and beer will be available to purchase. We plan to be finished with everything by 8:00 pm.
The winners will be announced later in the evening, probably around 7:30 or so. There will be 3 prizes.

Official Rules for the Dessert Challenge
You may bring your dessert between 4:30 and 6:00 pm.
You will have an assigned place for your dessert. Every entry will be anonymous so please do not put your name on yours. Instead you’ll get a number for identification when youregister. Please make sure your phone number and/or email address is current so you can be contacted easily.
Someone will help you find your spot for your dessert. Don’t just leave it anywhere in the hall, please.
The Challenge will begin at 6:00 pm. You will be welcome to go through the line and sample any of the desserts. More than likely, you will not be able to taste all of the desserts, and that is to be expected. No complaining allowed!
The dessert must be home-made.
The prize for “Most Scrumptious” will be decided by popular vote, 1 vote per person only and children old enough to make a decision included. In case of a tie, there will be another prize awarded.
The dessert must be prepared in such a way that it can be divided into many pieces. Obviously this will be easier for a batch of cookies than a layer cake but use your own judgment.
The results will be considered final once the votes are counted and the winner announced at around 7:30 or so.
No arguments, discussions or hurt feelings will be allowed. This is not a serious life-or-death competition; it’s just for fun!
All contestants must register to enter the challenge. We need this information from you:
