Have you considered being part of the IHM music ministry?

There are several ways to participate:

  • The IHM Adult Choir sings weekly at the 9:30 am Mass and also for special occasions: Christmas Midnight Mass, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil, Confirmation. We meet on Thursday evenings to rehearse from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm in the church. The ability to read music isn’t necessary but the desire to make a joyful noise for the Lord absolutely is! Think about it, especially if you’ve sung in choirs before, maybe in school. I’d love to have you!

  • The Children’s Choir practices every week on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 7:30 pm. The choir members should be second grade or older and able to read, but I absolutely will take younger siblings who want to sing. I usually ask them to sing once per season, or at least several weeks apart. For this year, that means they’ll sing for maybe 6 Masses, including the First Communion Mass after Easter.

  • NEW AND IMPROVED: The Bell Choir will be a bit different this year. I’ve had both adults and younger folks ask if I could have a bell choir for beginners, people who cannot read music. I’m willing to try it, for this year at least. So—if you do NOT read music but would love to learn, this might be the group for you! Practices will take place on Monday evenings, from 7:00 to 8:00. This bell choir more than likely will NOT play for any Masses, at least not this first year. We might try to have a recital for family and friends but we can figure that out later. Members are limited to Grades 7 and 8, high school, and adults.

For more information about any of the above groups, or if you are interested in being a cantor or instrumentalist, contact Marilyn at 314-341-2622 (sending a text is ok, too) or email at

The Contemporary Group is a lot of fun and of course will welcome new members. Contact Debbie Gillespie at 636-398-4971 for information.
